Pentyrch voters may be spared third election.

VOTERS in a city ward look set to be spared their third election in four months.

No requests for a by-election have been received for the vacant community council seat in Pentyrch, Cardiff.

It was left empty by a councillor who failed to fill in his acceptance papers on time after the May 1 poll.

If the city council does not receive 10 requests from electors or would-be candidates who want to see a contest for the seat, then the community council can co-opt someone of their choice to fill the seat.

The deadline for contacting the electoral services department at County Hall, Cardiff, is Friday, September 5.
