Penthouse sold for $2.2M at Resnick's Oxford on 72nd.

In one of the largest residential real estate transactions of the year, one of the two penthouse residences atop Jack Resnick and Son's Oxford on Seventy Second has been sold for $2.2 million.

The buyer, who has requested anonymity, will use the luxury penthouse as a year-round private home. Burton P. Resnick, president of Jack Resnick & Sons, Inc., made the announcement. The broker for this transaction was Rosalie Rubin of Douglas Elliman. The owner was represented by the on-site sales agent, The Marketing Directors, Inc.

The 3,025-square-foot, two-story home boasts fourdirectional views, two enormous set-back terraces, dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows, three master suites with on-suite baths, maid's quarters with private bath, a wood-burning powder room, spacious eat-in kitchen and mahogony floors throughout. The master bedroom opens onto a private terrace, and features a private bath with Breccia Onniciatta marble and separate shower and whirlpool. The other bathrooms feature Botticino Semi Classico marble.

This penthouse home tops The Oxford on Seventy Second, the 43-story, 204-home luxury condominium, which features, two-, three- and four-bedroom residences, each designed to maximize natural light and outdoor space.

According to Resnick, the buyers were attracted to The Oxford on Seventy Second because of its array of amenities, among them 24-hour doorman and concierge service, an 80-car on-site attended garage, a fully-equipped fitness center with pool, a 9,500-square-foot sun deck, a formal English entry garden, elegant English lobby, and the full range of services one would expect in building of this caliber. In addition, the building benefits from a 421a tax abatement program, which provides residents with substantial real estate tax savings.

Commenting on the transaction, Resnick said, "The buyers thought the market was ripe for a purchase, and sought a quality, traditional home that would retain its value, in a neighborhood offering privacy and stability. We are delighted to have been able to accommodate their needs."
