Pensioner killed when car overturns.
A 69-YEAR-OLD man, Sotiris Katranis form Sylikou, died Saturday noon when he lost control of the car he was driving and it overturned.
According to reports, the accident took place in a private road in Sylikou, in the Limassol district.
Limassol traffic police chief accident investigatorEmiliosKafas , told the Cyprus News Agency that the accident occurred at noon, when Katranis, lost control of his car and. Katranis, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed instantly.
"He was driving downhill a private road, which has a steep downward slope and he seems to have lost control of his vehicle which overturned," Kafas said.
Reportedly Katranis was driving down the hill in a low speed and Kafas added that police will also look into the possibility whether his death was caused from a possible underlying medical problem he may have had.
"This will be shown in the autopsy," Kafas said.
The victim was transferred to the Limassol General Hospital where his death was confirmed.
