Pennsylvania Governor announces USD1.9m investment in 15 airports.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2010 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

Pennsylvania Governor Edward G Rendell on Friday announced an investment of USD1.9m in federal and state funds to help 15 Pennsylvania airports.

The funds will be used to upgrade equipment and facilities and enhance safety at the Mid-Atlantic Soaring Center Airport, Bedford County Airport, Butler County Airport, Joseph A. Hardy Connellsville Airport, Indiana County/Jimmy Stewart Airport, Queen City Municipal Airport, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, Bradford Regional Airport, Heritage Field Airport, Somerset County Airport, Venango Regional Airport, Finleyville Airpark, Rostraver Airport, Baublitz Airport and York Airport.

The state portion of funding, USD1.7m, comes from PennDOT's aviation development programme and the Federal Aviation Administration is providing USD270,750 in grants through the block grant programme.
