Pennsylvania First Lady Kathy Schweiker to Participate in National Family Week Celebration at Capitol Rotunda.

Pa. First Lady Kathy Schweiker will participate in the PA Alliance for Children and Families National Family Week celebration at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, in the State Capitol Rotunda, Harrisburg.

The purpose of National Family Week is to recognize the role of families in a strong society. This year's theme, "Connections Count," is designed to encourage and support a healthy family life by utilizing connections within communities.

The First Lady recently was appointed to serve as Chair of the Governor's Community Partnership for Safe Children. The Partnership supports communities in their efforts to curb violence by and against our youth through research- based prevention programs and to prevent risk factors for violence such as drug and alcohol abuse, illiteracy and child abuse.
