PennMedia Reaches Over 14 Million AOL Subscribers.

CHICAGO, July 10 /PRNewswire/ --

PennMedia, the Internet's largest advertising network of e-mail publications, announced today that over 14 million AOL users have subscribed to one of Penn's 938 different publications delivered via email.

President and CEO, Jaffer Ali stated, "With 62 million total subscribers, we reach every significant segment in the online world, so it's not surprising that we reach the largest collection of AOL users outside of going directly through AOL." To receive one of Penn's publications, AOL users must "opt-in" and thus, give permission for the publisher to send information to their email box.

Until now, people have thought the only way to reach the AOL audience was through exclusive deals with AOL, however AOL users subscribe to thousands of different publications delivered via email. Reaching AOL subscribers through their email box is a low tech and highly effective way to reach this large market.

Penn research indicates that the AOL crowd also stands out for its vitality. Says Roy Weiss, EVP of Sales & Marketing, "Our latest research shows that AOL users are active and more responsive than other groups." It's revealing that AOL users are subscribing to content outside the AOL system. These content based e-mail publications are the vehicle that gets the marketing message across. And, this further supports what many online marketers are learning, that the future of online advertising is through the e-mail box.

PennMedia's network of 62 million opt-in subscribers and 938 different publications delivered via e-mail place them among publishing industry giants like Bertelsmann, AOL/Time Warner, News Corp. Gannett and Tribune Co.
