Pen points.

I CANNOT believe that some people are offended by the St George Cross. I should be able to fly the flag of my country whenever I want.

It seems that we are not allowed to offend people from other countries, but we are allowed to be offended by doing nothing wrong but supporting the country we live in.

It's hypocritical to say that the flag of the country you have chosen to live in offends you. I am flying my flag loud and proud.

Susan Singh, Aldbourne Road, Radford, Coventry.

I LOOKED up in my dictionary the words pathetic and oaf used to describe a certain rugby referee mentioned in a recent letter.

During a lifetime enjoying the game, I have never found those adjectives applicable to any one of the essential whistlers.

I did however find "pretentious, self indulgent, puerile and monomania."

None of which could apply to that official but came to mind for possible use elsewhere.

Don Smith, Blackberry Lane, Coventry.
