Peder: Don't pour on Mor pain, Wayne.
Byline: Alan Nixon
BLACKBURN'S Morten Gamst Pedersen is ready to do a 'trade' with Wayne Rooney as he jokes he will have a quiet word with the star.
The Norwegian faces Rooney and Manchester United tomorrow, with the title-chasing Reds on a roll.
But the extrovert Viking also comes up against Rooney and England in a warm-up game before the Euro 2012 finals - and he has a cunning plan.
Pedersen grinned: "I'll have a talk with Wayne and tell him to take it easy. I'll let him get a goal against Norway if he relaxes a bit against us."
The Rovers stalwart knows his side will need all the help they can get as Steve Kean's battlers seek a result to stay out of trouble - and record a rare double.
Pedersen was in the Rovers team that beat United home and away seven seasons ago. He also helped them stun Old Trafford with a win at Christmas and revealed: "I have great memories of playing United.
"It's good when you can beat teams like that. We played well in December and stuck to our gameplan. You always need a bit of luck there - and we had that.
"Hopefully we will have a bit more because we are definitely the underdogs, no one expects us to win. The Manchester United machine is going again.
"It's a challenge, but if we are going to be frightened we have lost before the game starts. It will be hard, but you can't be scared."
Pedersen lives in Manchester and often mixes with players from both United and City. He might even get a free meal in his favourite Italian restaurant - San Carlo - if he can help the Blues in the title race.
He said: "I get on really well with United and City people. If we get a result maybe the City boys will pay - they have got enough money."
