Pearce makes his peace with Roy.

Stuart Pearce is ready to make peace with unhappy Nottingham Forest star Bryan Roy.

Dutch master Roy launched a stinging attack on Pearce a week ago.

But as he prepares to lead Forest into FA Cup action against Newcastle today, Pearce revealed: "I learnt in Brian Clough's days not to be bothered about people having a pop at me.

"I've been in the game too long to be concerned with that sort of thing. What does bother me is what Bryan does on the field."

Ironically, within a few hours of aiming his angry broadside at Pearce, Roy found himself drafted back into the Forest line-up in place of the injured Dean Saunders. He responded with both goals in a 2-1 win against Spurs.
