Peaceful protest over attacks on churches in Lahore held.
LARKANA -- Various organisations including Masihi Panchayet Larkana (MPL), Jogi Sujag Social Welfare Organisation Sindh (JSSWOS), Civil Society Support Programme (CSSP) and representatives of civil society staged peaceful protest demonstrations against the attacks on churches in Lahore.
The protesters, holding placards inscribed with demands for protection of life and properties of the minority community members, chanted slogans against the terrorist activities. Protesters assembled outside the Larkana Press Club to express solidarity with the victims of the Lahore blasts.
On the occasion they strongly condemned Lahore incident and vowed to get united against terrorism and extremism.
Chaudhry Saleem Masih and Shoukat Masih told media men that terrorists were posing threats against minorities and targeting their worship places which is a condemnable act. They also demanded of Commissioner Larkana Division and district officials to ensure foolproof security arrangements for churches in the city.
The Jogi Sojag Social Welfare Organisation Sindh Larkana chapter arranged condolence reference at Village Dhamrah to mourn the deaths in twin blasts in Lahore. The organisation's activists also called upon the government to arrest the culprits behind the Lahore incident and award them exemplary punishment.
