Pazeer shines on Guineas Day.

Tribune News Network Doha Three-year-old bay colt Pazeer produced a thrilling burst from the back and clinched the Thoroughbred Guineas Group 3 race at the 11th Race Meeting on Thursday. At the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Racecourse in New Al Rayyan, Pazeer unleashed his dash at the right time and kept charging clear of the field to beat Burrishoole Abbey, ridden by Faleh Bughanaim, by more than three lengths. For the Abdulatif Hussain al Emadi horse, it was third victory in as many races. Tamih was guided to the top by Jean Baptiste Hamel and controlled the inside railings. Trainer Ibrahim Saeed al Malki's another ward Perfect Storm (Saleem Golam) followed him hotly. But after the final turn, Notalot (Tomas Lukasek) and Burrishoole Abbey overtook Tamih and Perfect Storm. Suddenly about half way down the home stretch, Pazeer shot ahead. With each step, he looked full of vim and vigour and continued to stretch powerfully across the line for a brilliant victory. This was the second winner for Pedroza. He earlier set up a three-quarter triumph for Rockin Fella, owned by Abdulaziz Saleh al Jaber and trained by Hadi Nasser Rashid al Ramzani, in the Thoroughbred Plate for two years olds. Black Orange, under Faleh Bughanaim, tried hard to come up and beat Rockin Fella but it was not possible. Shawwal (Carlo Fiocchi) finished third by neck. On the Guineas Day, Yazeed and Abha posted exciting wins to have a share of the glory. Yazeed, with Stephan Ladjadj on the back, shocked Emir Sword Group 1 PA winner Ebraz (Theo Bachelot) to claim the Purebred Arabian Guineas 1,600m race by quarter length. The two were involved in a grim battle for the top honours. It was however the Alban de Miedulle ward from Umm Qarn which established his superiority. AJS Gannas was third more than six lengths behind. Al Jeryan Stud's Abha, ridden by Tomas Lukasek, emerged the winner in the Local Thoroughbred Guineas 1,600m, getting the better of Saar by a length. For the trainer Hadi Nasser Rashid al Ramzani, it was the second success of the day after Rockin Fella's triumph. Rider Marc Lerner also shone with two winners. First, he piloted Raqee, owned by Hassan Ali Hassan al Matwi, to a tight nose victory against Al Dawoodea (Felah Bughanaim) in the Purebred Arabian Plate over 1,600m. Yatzakhan (Marvin Suerland) managed to take the third spot. Later, he pushed Zakhir Stud-owned Zameer, a trainee of Mohammed Salama Salim Ashour, to a shocking triumph over TM Thunder Struck (Jean Baptiste Hamel) in the Purebred Arabian Conditions (1,600m) by short head. AJS Anfowan (Tomas Lukasek) failed to match the pace of the leading pair and finished in third spot four lengths behind.
