Paxton Winter Carnival is Feb. 15.

PAXTON -- Paxton Recreation is hosting its annual Winter Carnival from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Paxton Center Fields (via access road at end of Paxton Center School parking lot).

There will be sledding, ice skating, a bonfire, s'mores, contests (curling!), chili and food for sale, including popcorn, hot chocolate and warm cider.

Planned contests include the cardboard sled event, with prizes for fastest and most creative; patriotic sled decorating, milk jug Olympic curling, a kids hockey game from 4 to 5 p.m., and Paxton's annual chili contest.

Anyone interested in supplying a slow cooker of chili for the contest should contact Kathy Card at (508) 753-7315. Winner will receive a prize plus bragging rights.

This is a great way to kick off February vacation.
