Paterno Imports acquires the national rights to Baderbrau.

Chicago-based Paterno Imports recently announced the acquisition of the national marketing rights to Baderbrau, the pilsner-style beer brewed by the Pavichevich Brewing Co., located in Elmhurst, IL.

In support of the new brand, Paterno has developed a national advertising campaign that positions the beer as an equivalent to Europe's best beers. According to a Paterno spokesperson, the new advertisement's headline reads, "Beer Lovers! Save $1600 when you drink Baderbrau. Up to now," the copy continues, "to drink a beer this good, you had to spend $1600 to purchase a plane ticket to Bavaria."

Baderbrau was developed by Ken Pavichevich and his master brewer, Douglas Babcook, after touring 70 breweries in Austria, Czechoslovakia and Germany. The brew contains no additives and uses Saaz hops from Czechoslovakia.

According to a Paterno Imports spokesperson, Baderbrau is available on draft and in six-packs.
