Pat's EastEnd; Sombre send-off for a soap legend.

Byline: Kat Lay

THE wreaths are flashier than her trademark earrings but EastEnders legend Pat Evans still manages to go out in style.

Fat Pat, played for 25 years by Pam St Clement, 69, is taken to her funeral by a horse-drawn hearse surrounded by her screen family and friends.

Returning son David Wicks (Michael French), granddaughter Bianca (Patsy Palmer), stepson Ricky (Sid Owen) and stepdaughter Janine (Charlie Brooks) were at the service that will be shown over Christmas.

The BBC are refusing to say whether Pat is killed by a fire, a heart attack or cancer.

GRIM: Pat's stepson Ricky MOURN: David and Bianca GRIEF: Kat and Heather UPSET: Tanya at service HEARSE: Janine at funeral
