Pasta joke insists Italian food boss.

A RESTAURANT owner has hit back at reviewers on Facebook.

Alan Barker, 29, owns and runs Zucchini Pasta Bar on the Swan House roundabout in Newcastle and was left annoyed by a recent negative review from a regular.

They rated Zucchini two stars out of five and complained he couldn't have sides as a starter, that the place is run more like a cafe than a restaurant and the food is "inconsistent".

Rather than accept the criticism Alan responded and said he hoped the diner would avoid Zucchini in future.

He wrote: "This isn't something I normally do but for a special person I've made a special exception.

"Side orders are meant to served as sides. The clues in the name. Everything comes together, it's the whole concept.

"Apologies for the inconsistent food, although its hard to keep consistency on dishes that aren't even on the menu that you keeping ordering week in and week out.

"We opened Zucchini to bring fresh pasta to 'NE1' and not to feed clowns like yourself." | See the Secret Diner - page 45
