Passport, driving licence and 50 bags of 'drugs'... what hapless driver left for police after he ran away from car smash.
Byline: HELEN JOHNSON
A DRIVER ran off from the scene of a crash - but left his ID behind and a massive stash of what appears to be drugs. When officers from Greenheys police station in Hulme were called to the scene of a collision on Stretford Road on Tuesday, they discovered the driver had fled the scene. Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for the police, in his haste he'd left some rather important items in the vehicle. They included his passport, email address and his driver's licence. Officers also made another interesting discovery in the van - which they describe as bags of 'white powder.'.
Posting on social media, officers from Moss Side and Hulme wrote: "Our Greenheys team would like to thank the van driver involved in a traffic accident on Stretford Road earlier.
"The driver ran off, but he kindly left his passport, email, license and 50 little bags of white powder behind to help officers find him. See you soon!"
