Passenger numbers continue to increase at Frankfurt airport.
Passenger numbers at Germany's Frankfurt airport in September 2004 rose by 3.1% on the same month in 2003 to 4.83m passengers thanks mainly to international traffic, according to the airport's operator Fraport.
Fraport said that during July to September 2004 the airport achieved the best results for passenger, freight and aircraft movements for any third quarter in the airport's history. The company added that the passenger traffic increase represented normal market growth as the industry continues to recover from the Iraq war and SARS outbreak in 2003.
Fraport had predicted that the airport would see an increase of between 3.5% and 4.5% in passenger numbers in 2004 but in the first nine months of the year it has seen an increase of 6.4%, reports Reuters.
