Passenger's drunken rant delays flight to Newcastle.

A FLIGHT bound for Newcastle had to abort take-off while a woman abusing air crew was removed.

Passengers aboard the Ibiza to Newcastle flight on May 1 told how the woman, believed to be drunk, staggered onboard and began shouting and swearing at staff.

In footage recorded by a passenger, the woman can be seen arguing with an air hostess before the police arrive.

One passenger told how the woman threw her hand luggage over the aircraft stairwell in protest that she was being removed. After the incident, police were quick to put the woman in handcuffs and frogmarch her off the plane. Emma Warren, 31, who was returning from a hen party with friends, said she was disgusted at the woman's behaviour. She said: "We were on the plane first and I was looking out of the window at the second load of passengers getting on. I spotted her straight away, she was absolutely mortal. It looked like she had just walked out of a club and straight into the airport, she had drink all down her dress and was slurring her words. I don't know how she got through airport security."

Emma, of Newcastle, added: "She was sat at the back of the plane and there was a bit of commotion so an air hostess moved her towards the front and told her to sit down and shut up."

The incident delayed the flight into Newcastle by an hour and a half.
