Parliament tends to reject Hashimi's veto, says Sagheir.

Chief of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council's bloc within the United Iraqi Alliance MP Jalal al-Sagheir pointed out "We are waiting for the official reply from the Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi over his veto on the elections law."<p>He stated to the National Iraqi News Agency "In case Hashimi refused to withdraw his veto, we will directly reject this veto."

"VP Hashimi put himself and his bloc in troubles through deciding to veto the law, since he cannot continuo with his stance neither withdraws his veto," he added.

"Hashimi thought that he will achieve considerable result via this veto, but he put himself in an embarrassing situation," MP Sagheir stressed.

A delegation representing several blocs headed to meet Hashimi on last Sunday to convince him to draw his veto.
