Parliament Speaker Veljanoski visits Turkey.

Invited by Cemil CiCek, President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Macedonian Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski paid an official visit to the Republic of Turkey on 26-28 June 2014. Speaker Veljanoski was also received by Turkish President Abdullah Gul. It was stressed at the meeting that the Republic of Macedonia had a strong lobby in the Republic of Turkey for attracting investments. President Gul emphasized that the Republic of Turkey supported the Republic of Macedonia in its process of EuroAtlantic integration and that he personally argued for Macedonia's NATO membership at a meeting with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

During his visit to Turkey, Speaker Veljanoski also met Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople.
