Parlec acquires British toolholding firm.

Toolholder and presetting equipment producer Parlec, Inc. has acquired the Bristol Tool Group (Kingswood, Bristol, England), a manufacturer of toolholding and workholding gear. Bristol's managing director, Robert H. Miller, continues in his post in the U.K.

Bristol Tool is made up of Bristol Tool & Gauge Engineering Ltd. in England and the Bristol Cool Co. (North Vernon, Ind.). The Indiana operation is being consolidated into Parlec headquarters in upstate New York.

Parlec also recently opened a sales office in Shanghai, China.
