A WARNING was handed out today to people planning to go to next weekend's spectacular in Huddersfield.

The Carnival and Mela Weekend in Greenhead Park is expected to attract tens of thousands of revellers.

But strict parking regulations will be in place around the park.

And officials have warned: 'We will give parking tickets'.

Many of the streets surrounding the park have residents only and permit parking schemes.

Festival co-ordinator Glenis Burgess said it was important that people parked correctly.

She added: "The usual parking restrictions will be in place around Greenhead Park.

"Anyone parked illegally will receive a ticket.

"Rather than spoiling a great day out by getting a parking ticket, people are advised to use the Springwood car park. This offers free parking after 6pm on Saturday and all day Sunday."
