Parents cautioned.

A COUPLE who left their two young children home alone while they went on a Caribbean holiday have escaped with a caution.

Gayatri Harrinanan, 42, and her husband Vishnu, 45, were ordered home from the tropical island of Curacao last week after neighbours reported they had abandoned their son and daughter.

Officers who called at their home discovered their seven-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son were fending for themselves in Shortstown, Beds.

A spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said: "Both parents have been spoken to by police and have been formally cautioned under the Child Cruelty Act.

"This case is now being dealt with by social services who will continue to monitor the family
