Paragon Management Systems Delivers Industry Standard for Textile Supply Chain Planning At Malden Mills Industries.
Textile Innovator Deploys Paragon's Planning Solution to
Enhance Customer Service, Slash Inventories and Accelerate
Time-to-Market For Award-Winning Polartec(R) Products
Paragon Management Systems, Inc., the leading provider of Internet-powered supply chain collaboration solutions, today announced the live deployment of Paragon Applications at Lawrence, Mass.-based Malden Mills Industries, the world-renowned producer of Polartec(R), synthetic fleece fabrics which are used to make outdoor apparel.
Malden expects that the implementation of Paragon's supply chain planning solution will result in more efficient plant scheduling, tighter control of inventories, and better coordination with suppliers, distributors and trading partners. Attainment of these objectives will support the company's primary goal, which is to enhance customer service by providing improved on-time delivery performance.
Paragon Applications will also help Malden Mills Industries transition from a make-to-stock to a make-to-order business. This shift is deemed essential to providing value-added service to customers by giving them what they want, when they want it, with instantaneous quoting capability.
"Paragon Applications offer a good fit for the supply chain planning requirements of our company," said Ted Meeker, Malden Mills' Implementation Project Director. "We wanted to partner with a supply chain management provider that would deliver on its promises -- so we could deliver on ours. In this respect, Paragon's culture is much like our own."
The implementation enhances Paragon's position as the leader in supply chain planning for the textile industry. "Paragon's competition offered its software to us for a much lower price," said Fred Tieuli, Director of Materials and Planning at Malden Mills.
"We rejected the offer and selected Paragon based on its more robust and proven solution and the superior business and industry domain expertise of its people. We expect our partnership with Paragon to pay dividends in our bottom line performance."
"We are pleased that Malden Mills has chosen us as their strategic supply chain partner," said Kameron Hadavi, vice president of Paragon's Textile and Apparel Industry Solution Group. "As the standard bearer for planning in the textile and apparel industry, we look forward to expanding our partnership with this visionary company."
About Paragon's Textile and Apparel Solutions
Today's textile and apparel companies seek to gain greater, more granular visibility into their extended supply chains while shortening overall time in the pipeline and reducing costs associated with inventory carry-overs. By shrinking planning cycle times and manufacturing lead times, they can also accelerate time-to-market for products while improving overall customer responsiveness.
Paragon's Textile and Apparel Solutions Group leverages its domain experience, consulting expertise and the inherent flexibility of Paragon Applications to create industry-specific templates that precisely model the business processes and planning environments of textile and apparel companies. The results are solutions tailored to enable planning, optimization and collaboration across multiple sectors of the supply chain -- from fiber to retail.
Paragon delivers the key technology for maximizing growth and savings within the textile and apparel industry according to the Demand-Activated Manufacturing Architecture (DAMA) Project, a research consortium among the U.S. Department of Energy, Textile Clothing Technology Corporation, and leading fiber, textile, sewn products and retail companies.
Paragon's customers include industry innovators such as Milliken & Company, one the world's largest privately held textile and chemical manufacturers; and Teijin, a manufacturing giant in Japan.
