Parade is jest for fun.

ST Patrick's Day parade organisers are sending in the clowns!

"We are appealing to people to clown around and enjoy themselves with us," said Tom Gleeson, of Thurles, Co Tipperary.

"We would like to see as many clowns as possible taking part and we appeal to people to dress up in fancy outfits and enjoy themselves.

"People have become too self-conscious and too serious. Let's clown around for a change. We might even give a prize to the best clown."

The Thgurles parade is on March 14.
