Paper calls. (Meetings).
Symposia scheduled for the technical meeting will include: Advances in rubber testing equipment; Continuous mixing; Engineering design of rubber components; EPDM roofing; Heat aging of elastomers under-the-hood; Hoses/belts; New commercial developments; Rubber recycling; and Thermoplastic elastomers.
Abstracts should reflect the technical significance and substance of the paper, and are due by April 5. Further information and abstract submittal forms are available from the Rubber Division (330) 972-7815.
The Tire Society. Papers are solicited for the 21st Annual Meeting and Conference of The Tire Society, to be held September 9-10 at the Radisson Hotel in Akron, OH.
Technical sessions are planned for the presentation of papers based upon topics related to tire materials, mechanics, processing, manufacturing and applications.
Examples of topics include physics of tire components; relationships of material properties to tire performance; viscoelasticity and tire performance; fracture in tires; adhesion of tire materials; tire mechanics; tire design and development; rolling resistance/traction/treadwear; tire noise; tire testing; advances in tire manufacturing processes; predictive models; tire/vehicle dynamics; and tire electrical properties.
Abstracts of papers intended for presentation should be submitted by March 1. Final paper manuscripts should be submitted by June 1. Further information on this conference and meeting is available from Gary Zolton (704) 583-8659.
Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE). A call for papers has been issued for the 34th International SAMPE Technical Conference, to be held November 4-7 at The Renaissance Harborplace in Baltimore, MD.
The theme for the 34th ISTC is "2002 M&P - ideas to reality." SAMPE technical conferences focus on the latest material and process engineering technology as evidenced by some of the paper topics being requested in research, development, applications and engineering, including adhesives, design, fibers, high temperature applications, testing, thermosets, aerospace materials, electronics, fire properties, liquid molding, thermal analysis, transportation, thermoplastics, etc.
Paper abstracts are due to SAMPE by April 9. Final technical papers are due July 16. Further information is available from Daun White (626) 331-0616, ext. 609.
