Panned by critics for her acting in US sitcom One Big Happy, Kelly Brook came up with one big funny excuse: "We don't have a lot of sitcoms in England."
The model-turned-actress, accused of being OTT as Prudence, claimed: "I'm happy to tone it down. I believe in a sitcom you have to bring the energy up."
While she waits to hear if she's got a contract after its six-episode first run, Kelly may want to watch the little-known Fawlty Towers, Only Fools and Horses, Blackadder, Men Behaving Badly, The Office, The Royle Family, The Vicar of Dibley and Dad's Army - still on weekly after 40 years.
