Panini North America Extends MICR Capabilities; Opens New MICR Center of Excellence.

DAYTON, Ohio -- Panini North America, a subsidiary of Panini S.p.A., is opening a new MICR Testing and Qualification Center in Dayton, Ohio. The facility will allow Panini to extend their Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) capabilities while continuously optimizing the performance of the Panini My Vision X(TM) check scanner for distributed capture environments.

Panini's current position as the market leader for check scanners used in distributed capture applications is substantially due to their state-of-the-art MICR reading capabilities. The new MICR Center of Excellence is part of Panini's strategy to leverage this success and further extend their MICR capabilities, ensuring unparalleled accuracy and integrity of customer transactions.

The new center will incorporate a broad number of quality and performance procedures. Panini will analyze waveforms of client transit items, utilize stress decks of assorted deposit items on varying configurations of the Panini My Vision X, perform live testing and optimization in customer operation centers, and continue participation on American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) sub-committees.

"Panini understands the critical importance of quality MICR reading, particularly in a distributed check scanning environment," says Dave Youngerman, president, Panini North America. "We will continue to provide our customers and partners with a superior product backed by world-class service."

Panini's MICR Plus(TM) technology enables superior recognition rates. This Panini exclusive technology provides MICR reading levels comparable to large scale transports allowing for a dramatic reduction of rejects and misreads. The MICR Plus technology is based on exclusive algorithms and is only available with Panini products.

Panini North America offers check capture solutions with unparalleled image capture quality, MICR read rates, document handling capabilities, and device reliability. The company's My Vision X solution portfolio has been widely accepted by financial institutions as the standard for distributed check capture.
