Panera Bread Raises a Lot of Dough for the Food Bank of South Jersey.

Pennsauken, NJ, March 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Panera Bread donated proceeds from their Community Breadbox program totally $17,500 dollars to the Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ). Customers who deposited their spare change in register coin boxes at Panera stores in Cherry Hill, Moorestown, Delran, Voorhees, Marlton and Mount Laurel, New Jersey helped fund this donation.

The local partnership with Panera is a natural, explains Val Traore of the program. “Their organization remains committed to a great, fresh product, promoting good nutrition and investing in the local community. Panera Bread is a dedicated community partner who has not only supported FBSJ financially, but has volunteered at our distribution center and packaged food for children and seniors.”

Founded in 1981, Panera, whose mission is “a loaf of bread in every arm,” has dedicated itself to working with local neighborhoods to eliminate hunger through a variety of initiatives. Among these are the Community Breadbox, Day-End Dough-Nation and other special programs. “We're a community conscious and community oriented company,” explains Theresa Rivello, Regional Marketing Director of Panera Bread. “Our goal is to raise the level of awareness about food insecurity in this country while also being a catalyst for change in our communities. We look forward to helping the Food Bank of South Jersey- and our neighbors - right here in South Jersey.”
