Pan-tastic in time fun relay or or net net; SCHOOL OF THE WEEK.

PUPILS and staff at St Osburg's Catholic Primary School had a 'flipping' great time celebrating Pancake Day.

The whole school took part in pancake races to celebrate Shrove Tuesday, with children and teachers turning out to participate and cheer on each other in class against class relay events.

The afternoon was organised by teaching assistant Rosaleen Fowler who also arranged for everyone to enjoy a warm pancake after the races.

Headteacher Nicola Rynott said: "It was such a fun afternoon, with everyone joining in. The children especially loved seeing the staff racing against each other! Shrove Tuesday is a significant day for us in Catholic schools as it is the day before the season of Lent begins. It was lovely to mark it in this way."
