Roger Ramsammy, associate dean of math, engineering and science at Palm Beach Community College in Florida, has been named the new dean of academic affairs. Ramsammy holds a bachelor's degree in pre-medicine from the University of the District of Columbia, and a master's degree and Ph.D. in molecular genetics from Howard University. Ramsammy turned down a teaching and research career at Minnesota's prestigious Mayo Clinic to pursue his love for teaching at Palm Beach Community College. He joined the faculty in 1994 and became associate dean of academic affairs in 2007.
