Palestinian government appeals for help against Israeli attacks on sanctities.
RAMALLAH, Jan 14 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian government on Monday appealed to governments of the world to take action against recurring Israeli aggression on Islamic and Christian sanctities. Its spokesperson, Yousef Al-Mahmoud, said in a statement, "We call on the Arab and Islamic governments to show solidarity with Palestine, with its capital, the occupied Arab Jerusalem, through serious action via international quarters and stop the offensives on the Islamic and Christian holy sites, our capital and bring the aggressors to account." Latest attack Al-Aqsa Mosque Imam Omar Al-Kaswani and encirclement of the Dome of the Rock Mosque are the most recent of such crimes, perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against Jerusalem and the sacred places, he added. Israeli troops have laid a siege around the mosque since this morning, barring worshippers including the elderly from venturing into its compound. They have also physically assaulted the Imam in the courtyard. (end) nq.rk
