Palermo 'right place' for Mario.
PALERMO sporting director Daniele Faggiano says the Serie A outfit is the "right place" for Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli to relaunch his career.
Balotelli is considering an offer from Palermo having also held talks with French club Nice and Swiss side FC Sion over the past week. The 26-year-old striker was born in Palermo - the capital of Sicily - and Faggiano wants to take him home.
However, one major stumbling block could be Balotelli's PS90,000 per week salary.
The frontman will either have to take a big pay cut or Liverpool will need to pay a hefty chunk of his salary over the final year of his contract.
"We think that Palermo could be just the right place for him to relaunch his career," he told Mediaset.
"We would welcome him like a great champion, who with the talent he has got could get back into the national team.
"The only obstacle is his salary, but his desire could shift the balance in Palermo's favour. We're waiting for his decision.
"If Mario doesn't come, we could sign (Diego) Falcinelli, but there are other names too."
