Palazzo and HPT Plastics enter joint venture.

A joint venture to market silicone coated release liner to the feminine hygiene markets in North, Central and South America has been formed by Palazzo, S.R.L., Milan, Italy and HPT Plastics, Fort Meyers, FL. Palazzo, a major force in the European sanitary liner market with 50% of the European sanitary napkin market, will introduce its products to the North American market at next month's IDEA '92 exhibition (see this issue's IDEA '92 preview for more detailed information).

An exclusive manufacturer of napkin release paper, the company also offers in-line printing, tie-coating and specialized narrow slitting. The joint venture with HPT Plastics is a good fit as HPT already represents Ace, Liege, Belgium, a supplier of polyethylene and polypropylene films for the hygiene market. HPT recently opened a sales off ice in Caracas, Venezuela to serve the Latin American market and the company has plans to expand into Brazil.
