Pakistani senators arrive in Kabul for talks.
Led by Salim Saifullah Khan, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman, the 10-member team is visiting Afghanistan at the invitation of High Peace Council and International Affairs Committee of Meshrano Jirga.
A number of issues, including the role of parliaments in promoting peace friendly bilateral ties, would be discussed during the three-day visit, embassy spokesman, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Wazir, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Political, cultural, trade and commerce cooperation are also on the delegation's agenda. The lawmakers will meet President Hamid Karzai, Meshrano Jirga Chairman Fazal Hadi Muslimyar, Prof. Burhanuddin Rabbani, the High Peace Council chief, Foreign Minister Zalmai Rasoul and Wolesi Jirga Speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi.
Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, Wasim Sajjad, Jehangir Bader, Afrasiab Khattak, Haji Adeel, Sughra Imam, Abbas Afridi and Lt Col Khalid Munir are part of the team, whose trip is sponsored by the Hanns-Seidel Foundation of Germany, according to Wazir.
