Pakistan passing through critical phase: Rashid.
Islamabad -- Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has urged Imran Khan to accept verdict of the Election Tribunal regarding vote recounting in NA122.
He was addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Saturday evening along with Minister of State Anusha Rehman and MNA Daniyal Aziz.
The Information Minister pointed out that in recounting, votes of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq have increased and that of Imran Khan decreased.
He said in his petition Imran Khan had wanted recounting and now the verdict has been delivered by Judge Kazim Malik in whom Imran Khan had expressed full confidence. He said the recounting was done as per parameters determined by the Election Commission of Pakistan to declare a vote valid or invalid. Representatives of both Imran Khan and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq were present during recounting process and accepted it.
The Minister said Pakistan is passing through a critical phase requiring complete consensus and concentration of the nation on the war against terror. He said we should all pledge to take those to task who soaked their hands with blood of innocent children in Peshawar. He said we must get Pakistan rid of terrorism to secure future of our children.
