Pakistan enjoys warm, cordial relations with Korea: Naek.

ISLAMABAD, August 18, 2010 (Balochistan Times): Pakistan enjoys very warm and cordial relations with Republic of Korea, which will be strengthened further in the days to come. \This was stated by the Acting President, Mr. Farooq H. Naek while talking to the out-going Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Shin Un, who called on him at the Parliament House Wednesday afternoon. During the meeting, Acting President appraised the envoy about the devastation caused by the floods in Pakistan and called upon the International community to graciously donate and help the flood affected people of Pakistan. Mr. Naek also thanked the Government of Republic of Korea for providing emergency relief assistance in the wake of tragic floods in Pakistan (Assistant worth US$ 500,000 provided by Government of Korea and US$ 47,000/- provided by Korean Red Cross). The Ambassador expressed deep sadness at the tragic loss and suffering that Pakistan has been experiencing as a result of ongoing floods. He offered his heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their lives and deep sympathy to those who have been affected. The Acting President Farooq Naek underscored the need of promoting parliamentary exchanges between Pakistan and Republic of Korea to their mutual advantage. He also suggested that business community of both the countries should explore the full potential of the trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Republic of Korea. On the occasion, the Acting President Farooq Naek also extended an invitation to the speaker of the National Assembly of Republic of Korea to visit Pakistan. While, thanking Mr Naek, Government and people of Pakistan for warm hospitality and unstinting cooperation extended to him during his diplomatic tenure in Pakistan, the Korean envoy said and added that his stay in Pakistan was very rewarding and memorable. The out-going Ambassador highly appreciated the wisdom and role of the honourable Acting President in handling effectively the sensitive issues in the Senate. Naek appreciated the services rendered by the outgoing Envoy in further strengthening the relations between Pakistan and Republic of Korea. He wished him success in his future diplomatic assignments.
