Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Asia-Pacific Region: FM.

ISLAMABAD, April 08, 2010 (Frontier Star): Welcoming the Australian National Security Advisor, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the countries in Asia-Pacific Region. According to FO Spokesman, he was of the view that Pakistan viewed with satisfaction the enhanced engagement and development of partnership between Australia and Pakistan. Australia's National Security Advisor, Duncan Lewis, called on Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday. He was accompanied by the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Mr. Tim George and other members of his delegation. The Australian National Security Advisor expressed the hope that the Foreign Minister would be able to visit Australia soon. Both sides expected concrete outcomes from his visit. The Foreign Minister raised the question of reported ban on shipment of scientific equipment to Pakistan with the National Security Advisor. Earlier, taking note of the media reports, he had instructed the Pakistan High Commissioner in Canberra to take up the matter with the Australian side. The National Security Advisor assured that it was not a Pakistan - specific action.
