Pakistan Post celebrates World Post Day.

Islamabad -- Hand to hand with Universal Postal Union, Pakistan Post traditionally celebrates the World Post Day every year on October 9, with a new resolve to provide postal services, financial services, customized e-services, logistic services to the customers meeting the demands of the technology driven competitive environment.

Pakistan Post celebrated the World Post Day to further strengthen the mission and goals of the Universal Postal Union. Mr. Mashal Khan, Director General, Pakistan Post hoisted UPU flag in a simple ceremony organized in the Directorate General attended by Officers and staff.

Subsequently, a grand function was held in M Khursheed Auditorium of Postal Staff College, Islamabad where Mr. Mashal Khan, Acting Director General, Pakistan Post graced the function as the chief guest.

The function started with recitation from the Holly Quran. Mr. Wasim Zafar, Director, International Postal Services delivering introductory speech welcomed the distinguished guests and large number of postal officers and postal workers followed by UPU documentary and video message of the DG UPU.

A group of School children presented a beautiful song containing theme of UPU. Cultural performance was presented by the postal representatives from Northern Areas.

While addressing the officers and staff, Mr. Mashal Khan, Acting Director General, said that Pakistan Post is totally committed to the goals and aspirations of the Universal Postal Union. He also informed that the efforts of Pakistan Post are highly respected at the UPU forum. Based upon its size, population and human resources, Pakistan is ranked in leading countries of the world. He also urged the postal workers to work with full dedication and devotion to further improve the postal services across the country in a competitive environment.

In his concluding remarks, Fazli Sattar Khan, Additional Director General (Operations) said that like other member-countries, Pakistan Post also celebrates the World Post Day with zeal and fervor every year. Similar UPU flag hoisting ceremonies and World Post Day functions were also held in all postal circles and units all over the country.
