Pak is Islamic state, will not let it become secular: Fazl.

ISLAMABAD -- Chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam- Fazal (JUI-F), Maulana Fazul Rehman has said that Pakistan was founded on the name of Islam and will not leave to become Secular state.

He expressed these views while addressing the Parliament here on Wednesday.

He said, "Democracy will grow stronger by pursuing democratic norms in the country. It is a democratic state and there is no room for dictatorship. It is federally administered system and has four federating units and the Federal system could not be changed".

Fazal added that Pakistan is a self-sufficient and independent state and we should not indulge in inferiority complex, adding that we will have to overcome these weaknesses and the royal road to get rid of these, is to take all the stakeholders along.

Sense of inferiority and slavery could not be eliminated through the use of gun and bullets. Solidarity is laying far cry in the absence of peace and tranquility in the country, he maintained.

Chief JUI-F said that unfortunately all the external and internal policies were molded under foreign pressure but we will have to reduce foreign dependence for turning the state self-sufficient.
