Pak German Prefabs

The Pak German Prefabs Ltd., a modern pre-cast factory, hopes to acquire a business worth Rs. 35 million against a public tender for the construction of two bridges; and expects to commence work in February 1991 after receipt of the letter of intent. This was stated by Managing Director of the company Mohammad Hussain Dadabhoy at the annual general meeting.

At present the company has projects of the value of Rs. 7.6 million and it is hoped it will get a good number of orders for low-cost housing units as the government was attaching great importance to such schemes. The company claims to be able to cater to requirements of 1,000 units per annum besides manufacturing girders, beams and double the systems.

Highlighting the financial results of the company the MD stated that the present break-up value of the share Rs. 13.51 and the gross profit for the year was Rs. 1.429 million while the net profit Rs. 1.204 million. The company has built up its reserves upto Rs. 4.860 million against its paid-up capital of Rs. 12.75 million.

The Managing Director of the company Mohammad Hussain Dadabhoy, while elaborating the performance of the company informed the shareholders that M/s. Pak German Prefabs Limited was set up in the Nooriabad Industrial Zone due to the reason that this zone was expected to develop into one of the biggest industrial estates of the country. But unfortunately for the last two years due to unsatisfactory law and order situation in the province of Sindh, this industrial zone could not grow to the anticipated extent and has actually suffered a setback.

Notwithstanding this far from favourable environment the company spared no efforts to run the factory satisfactorily by extending its activities from Karachi to Quetta. M/s. Pak German Prefabs Limited is the only factory which is having a mobile facility.
