Pair fined ,e1/423,000 for poaching in Paphos.

Two men were arrested on Tuesday evening and fined e1/423,000 for hunting during the night in an area where hunting is forbidden, and for using a silencer.

The two, aged 23 and 62, were found by Game Fund officers who were patrolling the area around Mandria in Paphos.

During a search, they found the men had a Flobert rifle with a silencer and two buckets containing 29 freshly killed wood pigeons and a thrush.

The 23-year-old told police he was responsible and the 62-year-old man just accompanied him.
