Pacific Beverage gets Berliner Kindl rights in U.S.

Pacific Beverage Marketing Co. has acquired the exclusive national sales, marketing and distribution rights for Germany's Berliner Kindl beers, the Chicago-based company has announced.

A Pacific Beverage spokesman said the national product roll-out will begin this month with Berliner Kindl Weisse, a traditional German wheat brew.

Berliner Kindl is Germany's largest producer of Berliner Weisse beer.

Also included in the Berliner Kindl product line is Berliner Kindl Pils, a traditional pilsener-style brew. Both the weisse and pilsener beers will eventually be available throughout the year in the U.S.

Company officials with Pacific Beverage Marketing Co. say they expect to increase distribution of the Berliner Kindl line to 20 U.S. markets by the fall.
