After screening the Option 2 team works with around 40 families per year.
After a 12 month follow up, 85 per cent of families are still together.
Option 2's budget is pounds 150,000 per year.
The cost per child of providing Option 2 is pounds 2,392 per year. Had those children gone into care of some description, the cost would have been pounds 26,654 per child, per year.
There are 90 prisoners referred each year.
After screening, the team assess around 80 prisoners. Of these around 50 receive support. The remaining 30 get high level, intensive support.
