PUP'S CHANCE AT NEW DOG FINISHING SCHOOL.

Byline: By NAOMI McELROY

IT'S A dog's life for modern mutts thanks to the latest phenomenon to hit the pet scene - puppy finishing school.

Man's best friend can now enroll in a course where dogs are taught social skills and graces.

All pups brought to the Old Conna Road vet's practice in Bray are asked to come back for the four week puppy socialisation classes.

Once a week they are taught the basics, including sitting, standing, toilet training - and, most importantly, how to make friends with other pups.

It sounds like a shaggy dog story, but Susie Law claims the classes help immature mutts develop into responsible hounds.

She said: "We do it so the owners will have a well balanced dog in future.

"It's a bit of fun as well as being educational. It gets them used to being around other dogs and the vet practice as well."

Susie also advises owners on important issues like worming, neutering and vaccinations to ensure the pups are happy, healthy and the best of friends.
