PUNA GEOTHERMAL VENTURE BEGINS FLOW TESTING PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- OESI Power Corp.
(NASDAQ: OESI) announced today that the 10-day flow test of the KS-8 well of Puna Geothermal Venture ("PGV") had commenced. OESI is a 51 percent partner in PGV, a 25,000 kW geothermal power project located on the island of Hawaii.
The flow test will determine the quantity and quality of the geothermal resource and provide the additional data required to complete development of the geothermal field. Following the successful completion of the flow test, OESI anticipates that PGV will generate and sell commercial quantities of electricity under the terms of its long-term power purchase contract with Hawaii Electric Light Company.
