PUGET POWER'S RECONSIDERATION PETITION GRANTED

 PUGET POWER'S RECONSIDERATION PETITION GRANTED
BELLEVUE, Wash., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The Washington Utilities

and Transportation Commission granted a petition for reconsideration by Puget Sound Power & Light Co. (NYSE: PSD) that will allow the electric utility to recover previously authorized energy cost revenues over two years instead of three years under an earlier order issued Sept. 24, 1992. The petition, granted late Monday by the Commission, enables the company to avoid taking a writedown to 1992 earnings that would have been required under generally accepted accounting principles if the cost recovery had been spread out over more than two years.
