PUBS KICK OUT FOOTY.

THOUSAND Sof pubs are pulling the plug on live football after being "held to ransom" by Sky, campaigners said yesterday.

Pub trade group ALMR claim Sky's premium package price - about pounds 13,000 - is too high.

ALMR chief Nick Bish said: "If the price of lager since 1996 had risen at the same rate as pub Sky subscriptions, we would currently be paying more than pounds 9 for a pint."

A Sky spokesman said: "We've kept our prices frozen at the September 2007 level."
