 TO REDEEM 7-1/4 PERCENT DEBENTURE BONDS
 NEWARK, N.J., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) today announced it will exercise its option to redeem on Sept. 1, 1992, the outstanding $21,419,000 principal amount of its 7-1/4 percent debenture bonds due 1993.
 The bonds will be redeemed at the regular redemption price of 100.39 percent of the principal amount, plus interest, to September 1992. No interest will accrue on bonds on or after Sept. 1, 1992.
 The Chase Manhattan Bank (National Association) serves as trustee for the debenture bonds. The bonds may be redeemed at the Chase Manhattan Bank (National Association), One New York Plaza, New York, N.Y., or at the corporate trust office of First Fidelity Bank, National Association, New Jersey, 765 Broad St., Newark, N.J.
