PUBLIC RELATIONS SOCIETY OF AMERICA AUGUST MEETING
TO DISCUSS 'THE INFORMATION REVOLUTION: SHRINKING THE PLANET'
SEATTLE, July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrew Nibley, national editor for Reuters America, will present "The Information Revolution: Shrinking the Planet," as the featured speaker at the Aug. 13 luncheon meeting of the Puget Sound Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), PRSA said today.
Nibley will discuss how the information revolution has made it easier for corporate America to communicate with publics not only in Seattle and Boston, but also in London, Mexico City and Munich.
"Technology and the elimination of trade barriers is rapidly making the world a global village where news and information crosses national boundaries in seconds," Nibley said. "How will America keep pace? How will our information needs and distribution change?" he said.
Nibley joined Reuters in 1980 as treasury correspondent. He became news editor, Washington in 1983; new director, North America in 1985; and news editor, Europe in 1987. Nibley assumed responsibility for North and Latin American editorial operations in January 1989. In 1991, he took over media sales and news product marketing as well. Nibley previously worked for UPI and the Washington Star.
